For the Saintly Mother Whose Crown Has Slipped
This piece was done after a master class with Dorothy Caldwell. She challenged me to
make a piece that was so big that you felt your mother was towering over you and you
were a small child again. The title reflects the fact that it was done after my mother suffered
a brain injury and was reduced to having care 24 hours a day. The day before she fell she was
bowling. She was 93 years old, still driving and very independent.
